Langhorne Slim is an American Singer-Songwriter from Langhorne, PA. His mighty third album, Be Set Free, was released by Kemado Records in 2009, and a new album is in the works. He is currently touring from Vermont to Idaho.  He loves Lee Hazelwood and the Phillies.

Needless to say ’tis been a non stop journey of excitement for Langhorne Slim. Since March 2008, the band has headlined over 150 shows and played major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bumbershoot, Austin City Limits Festival, Newport Folk Fest, Sunset Junction, Pickathon, Rhythm and Roots, and SXSW. The band garnered heavy acclaim for their performance of “Restless” on the David Letterman show and were WXPN’s artist of the month. This spring, the band will tour the US and Europe, including a stint with the Drive-By Truckers.

Slim’s live shows have a gospel quality. Be Set Free (2009) captures this spirit. Sweet hallelujah choruses bleed through tracks like “Land Of Dreams” and “Say Yes.” Be Set Free is Langhorne’s most cinematic and cohesive effort to date.  Its a complex slice of pie.

Be Set Free was produced by Chris Funk (member of Decemberists) who also played various instruments on the record in Portland, OR. The album also features several guest musicians including Sam Kassirer (from Josh Ritter’s band), Erika Wennerstrom (from Heartless Bastards) and Laura Veirs. The album was mixed by Tucker Martine who has recently worked with greats like Sufjan Stevens and R.E.M.

Welcome Müellers

Hello dear folks that are visiting this much new and groovy site. Writing to say hi and that I'm very pleased to be Artist in Residence this month at the Mule. Someone had to do it and I'm just the kind of man up for the challenge. I recently had the month of November off in Portland writing for our new album (coming in the near future). And today (December 1st) the band and I are heading out for a two week stint that will take us from Vermont to Idaho. If you're anywhere in between, or like travel for the sweet sake of rock n roll, go check out our tour listings here and visit --for other good things. Hope to see you out on the road and hope you enjoy what you find here on Mule Variations! Many good things to you all.
